The word Volunteer comes from the Latin word for “will”. Volunteering therefore connotes the will to do. To do anything that affects the environment that one is a part of-physical, biological and social. Given the socio-politico-ecological context of the era we live in, it becomes every citizen’s duty to volunteer their time and efforts towards various issues. Now is the time to Act, to use the agency and energies we all have-to support a cause, extend solidarity with those who struggle and to assert our voices.
In the words of Mahatma Gandhi “Be the change you want to see in the World”.
Ways to Volunteer
There are many ways in which you can extend your solidarity and act:
• Fundraising: If you belong to a Corporate House or are an Entrepreneur looking to donate a certain sum to the causes that Swechha takes up, then we’d be grateful for your valuable gesture. You can also donate as an individual, or as a group of concerned citizens. Any and all donations are welcome.
• Campaigning: If you are someone with a lot of contacts and wish to extend your energies and acquaintances towards any of our Programs or Events, then we’d be extremely glad for your help. Your energies could be valuable towards building greater visibility for our initiatives, getting more media coverage etc.
• Special Assignments: You could also share your unique skills with us. You could perhaps design some of our publications, help us upgrade our website; bring lots of colour to our T-Shirts and Newsletters etc. You could also perhaps help us plan a big event or Campaign with your Planning and Management skills. Swechha would be indebted.
You can simply fill the form (click here) and mention how you wish to Volunteer with us. Go ahead, ACT NOW.
